Harmonious Insight’s CONFIDENCE Waist Beads have orange and gold colored seed beads that represent COURAGE, SELF CONFIDENCE and VITALITY. Our waist beads are handmade and imported from Ghana. They are a tie-on design made with seed beads, 100% white cotton thread and measure between 45-50 inches in length.

Waist beads have a rich culture that can be traced back to the 15 century Africa. In Ghana, Nigeria, Senegal, and other West African countries, waist beads are a symbol of femininity, fertility, maturity, power, sensuality, and spiritual well-being. Waist beads can also be used for waist and weight management; as a connection to culture and heritage; as a form of stylistic or self expression; and a reminder to be more aware and loving toward one’s body.

Waist beads are worn around the waist or hip area and can be worn under clothing or shown off over clothing. The color of the beads can symbolize connections, elements, emotions, and intentions.

How to tie waist beads:

1. Wrap full strand of beads around your waist. Adjust the strand to hang around your desired waist area.
2. Once measured, move excess beads over to the end making sure they are not in the way.
3. Ensure there are no gaps in between the beads and then tie 3-4 tight knots.
4. Cut excess string with scissors.
